We are seeking a certified, reliable, hardworking part-time kitchen helper to assist in daily kitchen operations. The successful candidate will support the cooking staff by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. The helper will support our kitchen operations by assisting the cook in food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring high standards of food safety. The ideal candidate will have formal training or certification in food handling and a passion for working in a culinary environment. This position is 25 hours per week Monday-Friday 12:00pm - 5:00pm.

Education: Experience in a hotel, restaurant, catering, or institutional kitchen environment. Basic culinary training or diploma from a recognized institute.

Experience/Skills:

  • Previous kitchen or food service experience is required.
  • Assist the cook in preparing ingredients (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, cutting meat).
  • Follow recipes and instructions as directed by the cook.
  • Help with basic cooking tasks as directed.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
  • Safely operate basic kitchen appliances and tools.
  • Keep food preparation areas organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain cleanliness in waste areas.
  • Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Assist in storing food items properly and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the chef or kitchen supervisor.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and assist in kitchen tasks as needed during peak hours.
  • Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene, safety, sanitation procedures and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate loads
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
