Compassion in Action
WE LOVE BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US.
At the end of the day, Father Bob parks his bike and spends time in prayer.
What does Father Bob ask for in return? “Just prayers,” he says.
I hope you will pray for Father Bob, too. And if you can
give a gift for mission, I would be more than grateful. So
many children in Bangladesh—and in Maryknoll missions
throughout the world—are waiting for help.
Your gift will make more moments like this possible…
The mother of a little girl, Suriana, was so grateful for her
daughter’s operation that she urged her son, a student of Islamic
law, to pray to Allah for Father Bob. And a man whose
family member received care thanks to Father Bob shouted
out this greeting as the missioner passed by on his bike: “The
peace of Allah be upon you, my brother!”
I asked Father Bob to describe the reaction of Muslims to
his life of prayer and good works. “Many young people speak
with me,’ he said. “Some even say, ‘I want to do what you’re
doing.’ They understand that Jesus is my role model.”
In dozens of missions—from Bangladesh to Bolivia and
beyond—Maryknoll missioners witness the love of Christ.
Please pray for our Fathers and Brothers and all those we
serve. Then bless our work with your gift for mission so that
more people may come to know God’s love.
