Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers seeks a Room Attendant to perform cleaning and disinfecting of bedrooms and bathrooms for Residents and Visitors, following highest standards and protocols for nursing home institutions and hotels.
- Make beds, cleaning regular and hospital beds, change linens of residents and guest rooms.
- Perform laundry duties and housekeeping duties.
- Recognize physical and psychological well-being of residents and report concerns to Health Services and nurses.
- While using appropriate personal protection equipment, disinfect all areas of responsibility.
- Follow all Maryknoll housekeeping duties specification.
- Preparation of rooms for residents and patients, moving from room to room, packing, special projects, decorations, events, organizing storage and cages.
- Help with daily masses, special masses and funerals.
- When a Member/ Patient needs something they always ask us to solve the problem, no matter how busy we are, we will always solve it for them.
- Housekeeping is responsible for providing a service that guarantees good cleaning, quality and well-being to the patient and resident.
This is an Essential Services Personnel position. Essential Services Personnel are expected to report to work under all circumstances including inclement weather-related conditions, holidays, etc. They are to adhere to the shift schedules established by their supervisors or as directed by them.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in institutional cleaning.
- Blood borne pathogens trained.
- Understanding of airborne substances and the proper handling and disposal of bio-hazardous waste.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Communicate effectively.
- Detail oriented.
- Flexible.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning materials and how to use them safely and efficiently.
- The maintenance and order of housekeeping closet and equipment.
- Required to work occasional weekends (about 10 major events a year) and overtime as needed or as scheduled by the Supervisor.
- Required to be on call as per schedule.
- Must be able to lift and handle items up to 25 pounds.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am-2:30pm
Hourly Rate: $17.95 per hour
