Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse

Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers – also known as the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, Inc. – was founded in 1911 with the support of the Bishops of the United States to be the chief mission outreach of the Catholic Church in the United States. We currently serve in 20 countries worldwide – especially among the poor.
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse to work 7:00am to 3:00pm.
- Use of nursing process to oversee direct delivery of care to Society Members during designated shift.
- Staffing assignment to specific units and/or tasks
- Direct interaction with physicians to facilitate MD visits.
- Direct supervision and oversight of shift staff to ensure completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with staff nurse to detect exacerbation of current condition, new onset illness, Member injury and report on same
- Triage of Members requiring care from assigned unit(s) and coordination of admission.
- Monitor and report on conduct of all staff to insure safe, respectful and effective care.
- Monitor and report resident conduct to ensure safety of residents, staff and visitors to building.
- Report on staffing levels to Nursing Supervisor to insure safe staffing levels.
- Functions as unit nurse as the need arises.
- Essential Services Personnel: are expected to report to work under all circumstances including inclement weather-related conditions, holidays, etc. They are to adhere to the shift schedules established by their supervisors or as directed by them.

Qualifications:
- RN with current unencumbered New York State License.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a hands on clinical supervisory position (Charge RN, Lead RN, etc.) in an acute care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing and/or long term care setting.
- Proficiency in initiating and maintaining IV therapy treatment as ordered by the Physician preferred. Willingness to be trained in IV therapy required.
- Working knowledge of infection control practices, including but not limited to Flu and COVID, and other infectious disease response protocols and planning.
- Must be computer literate (EHR/Microsoft Office).
- Experience with palliative care and/or hospice care preferred.
