Registered Nurse (RN)

Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers – also known as the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, Inc. – was founded in 1911 with the support of the Bishops of the United States to be the chief mission outreach of the Catholic Church in the United States.  We currently serve in 20 countries worldwide – especially among the poor. 

Job Summary:

The role of the Registered Nurse is to care for patients with compassion and respect due to the inherent dignity of the individual regardless of social, economic status, personal attributes or the nature of their health problem.

  1. Advocate for all Members as needed to protect their wishes as well as their health and well-being.
  2. Oversight and appropriate delegation of duties to Licensed Practical Nurses and ancillary staff.
  3. Documentation: Subjective and objective assessment of Members health condition and coordination of a nursing plan of care
  4. Collaboration and coordination of Members care with the care team (physicians, LPNs, nursing assistants, social work, activities, appointment coordinators)
  5. Education of Members and staff on medical conditions, procedures and medications.
  6. Initiates treatments per doctors order and evaluates and documents outcomes
  7. Administration of medications and treatments per MD order.

Essential Services Personnel: are expected to report to work under all circumstances including inclement weather-related conditions, holidays, etc. They are to adhere to the shift schedules established by their supervisors or as directed by them.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree with current valid NYS license, including all certification necessary for a renewal as required by NYS.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a long term care setting.
  • CPR certification.
  • Working knowledge of infection control practices, including but not limited to Flu and COVID, and other infectious disease response protocols and planning.
  • Must be computer literate (EHR/Microsoft Office).
  • Experience with palliative care and/or hospice care preferred.
  • Proficiency in initiating and maintaining IV therapy treatment as ordered by the Physician, or willingness to learn within 6 months required.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Maryknoll, NY (Ossining)

Job Summary:

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse under the direction of the Registered Nurse is to care for patients with compassion and respect due to the inherent dignity of the individual regardless of social, economic status, personal attributes or the nature of their health problem.

  1. Advocate for all Members as needed to protect their wishes as well as their health and well-being.
  2. Performance of tasks within LPN Scope 0f Practice as directed  by the Registered Nurse
  3. Collaboration and coordination of Members care under the direction of the Registered Nurse with the care team (physicians, nursing assistants, social work, activities, appointment coordinators)
  4. Provision of direct patient care, medication administration, treatments, gather vital signs, and report symptoms that can be used by the RN in making decisions about the nursing care of specific patients.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with graduation from an Accredited LPN training program required.
  • Current valid NYS LPN license, including all certifications necessary for a renewal as required by NYS.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a long term care setting.
  • BLS certification.
  • Must be computer literate (EHR/Microsoft Office).
  • Experience with palliative care and/or hospice care preferred.

Nursing Assistant

Who We Are:

Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers – known as the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America – was founded in 1911 with the support of the Bishops of the United States to be the chief mission outreach of the American Church.

We are searching for a C.N.A. or HHA  for the 11p-7a shift that is experienced in long-term care who will be responsible for delivering hands on patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Collaborates with nursing staff and Society members to ensure efficient care delivery based on member, unit and facility needs.
• Utilizes knowledge of Society member’s age and cultural diversity as it relates to the provision of care.
• At the direction of Director/DON/Charge Nurse travels/accompanies Society Members who are sent out via Ambulance or need assistance at external care facilities.
• Relays pertinent information to hospital personnel and information from the hospital to the Nurse Supervisor/Nurse regarding care and or staff when relieved.
• Ensure safety of Society members, assist with their needs, advocate and communicate status with above.
• Must have C.N.A. or HHA certification
• Must be experienced in Long Term Geriatric care or have comparable experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and comply with Maryknoll policy regarding driving a Society vehicle.
• Must have a High diploma, maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA requirements.
