The Maryknoll Family
Maryknoll – the heart and hands of the U.S. Catholic Church’s overseas mission work for more than 100 years – is comprised of four independent organizations.
The Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers serve to witness the call to mission with the poor and those most suffering around the world in concert with the rest of the Maryknoll family:
Maryknoll Sisters give witness to God’s love and devote their lives in service overseas helping the poor, the ailing and the marginalized.
Today the Maryknoll Sisters have approximately 423 Sisters serving in 24 countries worldwide.
We welcome U.S. Catholics – single people, married couples and families – to respond to the call of mission.
The Maryknoll Lay Missioners serve communities in Africa, Asia and the Americas, helping create a more just and compassionate world.
While continuing to pursue their own life’s journey, Maryknoll Affiliates commit themselves to the mission goals of Maryknoll in the context of Chapters that gather for prayer, reflection and action.
The Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, Inc. (the “Maryknoll Society”) does not sponsor the Maryknoll Affiliate movement; groups identifying as Maryknoll Affiliates are not corporate subsidiaries or affiliates of the Maryknoll Society as a juridical entity; and they are not agents or representatives of the Maryknoll Society. Specific actions and views expressed by these groups are not necessarily those of the Maryknoll Society, and the Society is not liable for their activities.
