Jubilee Year of Mercy

From December 8, 2015, the 50th anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council, through November 20, 2016, the end of the liturgical year and Feast of Christ the King, the Catholic Church around the world will celebrate a Jubilee Year of Mercy.

A jubilee year is a special year called by the Catholic Church to receive blessing and pardon from God.

During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, God is revealed to us. Jesus Christ is the face of the Father’s mercy. As missionary disciples, all Catholics proclaim God’s love and mercy.

We invite you to briefly share your personal moments of mercy with us throughout the year. These moments can be those you have witnessed, those you have offered, or a moment during which someone has been merciful to you.

Some of the mercy moments posted here will be shared by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers through social media and displayed in the Maryknoll Museum of Living Mission at the Maryknoll Mission Center in New York.
