Cultivating Mission in the US

In the U.S., Maryknoll educates, accompanies, and empowers local parishes, communities and individuals to GO FORTH as living signs of God’s love and compassion to the entire world.

We Are All Called to Mission

We offer support and programs for front-line parish and diocesan ministers, religious educators, and other local leaders to form and foster communities of missionary disciples at your parish and school.

Drawing on our experience of over 100 years of international mission, Maryknoll continues to animate, encourage and support Catholics in the U.S. to engage in God’s mission of love at home and abroad.

Resources & Training for Missionary Disciples

We offer formation programs and resources for you to incorporate a stronger sense of global mission into your ministry and personal spirituality. Let us help you plant the seeds of God’s mission to the world in need of God’s love.

Cultural Immersion Mission Trips

Mission Immersion Trips

Join other religious educators, ministers, and community leaders on culturally immersive short-term mission trips to experience the Church as Missionary and enliven your own communities and ministries in mission when you return.

Join our Communities

Teacher Catechist Community

Empower youth to be agents of encounter to transform our world through authentic faith, love and service. Inspire and guide your students to follow their baptismal call to mission. Join our community of teachers and catechists and receive practical learning resources and global awareness lesson plans (rooted in issues of Discover Your Neighbor).

Deacon Community

In the Maryknoll tradition, we are missionary disciples, men and women within the diaconal community, who strive to meet God through encounter with people on the situational and geographic margins. Through accompaniment, service, and sharing stories and experiences we are mutually transformed in the Joy of the Gospel to go forth as prophetic witnesses of God’s love. Connect your local diaconal ministry to the Church’s worldwide mission. Join us to be a driving force for local and global evangelization.

Young Adult Empowerment Community

We build small communities of young adults committed to making the world a better place with opportunities for leadership development, social justice engagement, and discernment to find our calling, rooted in prophetic welcome and authenticity. We also partner with local young adult communities and universities to provide formation opportunities and immersion experiences which offer a sustainable faith grounding around this engagement and work in Spanish and English.

We want YOU to be a part of our community!

Mission Consultation

Maryknoll leverages its extensive, global mission experience to consult, prepare, and even accompany other organizations wishing to conduct their own mission trips around the world, as well as create their own mission formation programs. Contact Fr. Gerry Kelly at (713) 529-1912 or by email to learn more about how we can serve you directly or visit the Third Wave of Mission Institute.

Mission Appeals Program

Provide opportunities for your parish community to participate more fully in mission by asking a Maryknoll missionary to celebrate the liturgy and preach at your weekend Masses. We also offer parish missions for those wishing a multi-day, spiritually focused experience on missionary discipleship. Our Maryknollers will inform, inspire, and invite others more deeply into our baptismal call to mission.
