Maryknoll offers Immersion Trips throughout our mission world. Our trips provide the opportunity to develop relationships, to enter into the lives of our brothers and sisters in these areas for a short but meaningful amount of time. Our panelists have participated in many immersions to missions as varied as the Kibera area of Nairobi; the southern border between El Paso & Juarez; the shrines of the martyrs in Central America the historical and present realities of El Salvador and Guatemala; exploring the effects of the extraction industries in Appalachia; learning the realities of Native American life in South Dakota; experiencing the challenges of life in Jamaica; ministry in Guatemala, and many other immersions.Â
Join Deacon Denny Davis, a Deacon in South Dakota; Teresa Trout, of the St. Cloud, MN Missions Office and a Maryknoll Seminarian. The webinar will be lead by Maryknoll Mission Formation Program Teacher / Catechist and Discover Your Neighbor Team Leader Kevin McCarthy, MEd, who is himself an experienced Immersion Trip Leader of numerous trips, and Deacon Paul Bork, a veteran Immersion Trip participant and webinar coordinator.Â
