Trust The Process

Most Holy Trinity, you created us in the mystery of your love. Sometimes life feels messy and unclear, and we just want answers. In this moment, help us slow down and listen—to ourselves, to one another, and to your Spirit moving quietly through it all. Give us courage to trust that, even when we don’t have it all figured out, you’re walking with us.

Share a time when something initially seemed messy or difficult to understand but later became clearer as you worked it out. What did you learn by living it out rather than figuring it all out at the start?

The story of Samwel Chacha, an orphan raised by his aunt in Mwanza, Tanzania, is a testament to perseverance and trusting the process. Samwel joined the Uzima Centre program as a bright third-grade student. After failing the national exam, many would have lost hope, but Samwel refused to give up. With encouragement from the Maryknoll Lay Missioners, who believed in his potential, he kept moving forward. Samwel applied to a private nursing school, using money from the dowry he received when his sister got married. Despite financial challenges, he completed his two-year course. After receiving his nursing diploma, the Maryknoll team encouraged him and helped him continue his education. Today, Samwel is a medical student training to become an anesthesiologist. His journey embodies resilience, proving that with faith, determination, and support, success can emerge from the toughest challenges. Samwel’s story shows that when you trust the process, even in hard times, incredible things can happen.

Jesus said to his disciples: “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16:12-15

“Trust the process” became a trending phrase on social media, often seen in makeup tutorials and fitness videos. It serves as a reminder to stay patient, take small steps, and have faith that the outcome will be worthwhile—even if results aren’t immediately visible. Whether it’s through healthy habits or the messy process of blending makeup, transformation takes time. In a similar way, the Trinity reveals a divine process: God the Creator initiates love, the Son reveals the truth of that love, and the Holy Spirit empowers us to live out love—each step essential and interconnected. Though the community of love that is the Trinity remains a mystery, it reflects a process we are invited to participate in—through unity, ongoing action, and faithful openness to the Spirit’s guidance. Accepting this invitation means saying yes to the unfolding work of creation in our lives, trusting that even when we don’t see the full picture, something sacred is taking shape.

How is the Spirit inviting you — or your community — to trust the creative process of love in a current project or season of your life?

We often want quick answers or clear results, but today’s Gospel reminds us that God works through slow, steady processes. Take 10–15 minutes to reflect on a specific challenge or project you’ve recently faced—maybe starting a new job, navigating a relationship, or caring for someone in need. What small steps helped you move forward?What moments tested your patience or faith? Write down three things you learned from that experience. Then, choose one way you can apply those lessons this week to be a visible sign of God’s love in someone’s life.

Holy Trinity, you invite us into your divine circle, shoulder-to-shoulder, ever connected and ever unfolding. Thank you, God, for being present not just in the big moments, but in the slow, uncertain ones too. As we go forward, give us eyes to see the growth happening beneath the surface and the strength to keep going, one step at a time, with love and trust.
