School Teachers Education

Region:

Africa

Country:

Tanzania

Missioner Responsible:

Fr. Edward R. Schoellmann, M.M.

There are 18 primary schools, and 3 secondary schools in Bukundi territory in Tanzania.  Among the teaching staffs of these schools, there are as many as 50 to 60 Catholic teachers.  Fr. Ed Schoellmann wants to bring these teachers together periodically for seminars such as, Catholic principles of life, Small Christian communities, personal growth in spirituality, and Papal teaching on various aspects of Christian living in the modern age, which are of importance to teachers in the government schools.

Because there is no known program for Catholic teachers operating in the Dioceses, participation will consist of Catholic teachers who are interested in following their faith, and in how to grow in their faith.  Fr. Ed will encourage the teachers to assist in evangelization of the children in their classrooms, and to investigate deeper into the riches of their faith and its value in their lives.
