(Tanzania) Youth Work
Fr. Jonathan Hill works with young people who are altar servers in Buza Parish, Dar es Salaam, helping with travel for regional events for the diocese, and the replacement of vestments for serving mass, as well as recreational activities.
Fr. Jonathan also works with older youth. One student is finishing his degree in Pharmaceutical Medicine, and has one year remaining. One of the other students is in minor seminary and was an altar server. The other two were also altar servers and are finishing form 6 with preparation to enter seminary the following year. Your gift will be used in support of tuition and surrounding fees (meal plans, housing, etc.) for students and seminarians studying for the priesthood in both Dar es Salaam and in Mwanza, Tanzania.
The orphanage that Fr. Jonathan assists is run by a mother and her adopted son, whom she raised. They are supporting and raising six orphans ranging from the age of two to sixteen in their household. The elder son has a mind for business, and has begun successfully making and selling liquid household soap. They have also opened a duka (a shop selling household and everyday items). The shop has been very successful so far.
Your gift will change their lives.
