Father Jim Kofski, M.M., and Emelita L. Valdez, a Philippine Catholic Lay Mission (PCLM) partner, will offer an integrated education and leadership training workshop to parish leaders, youth and children, and they will include workshops on income generating skills and organize them into Basic Ecclesial Communities.

The project provides educational and nutritional support to more than 150 children but further expansions will provide similar help to 50 children in Mya Juntaya village plus an additional 50 children in Shwe Pyi Thar Parish as well as 25 children at Matupi Nursery School, administered by the Little Sisters of St. Therese.

In 2016, Emelita hopes to build a simple storage structure in Junaya village to store more commodities for the community store.  The village is situated on the bank of the Hlaing River, and space to store and secure more goods would obviate the need for villagers to cross the river to purchase basic necessities often at higher costs that the community store could offer.
