Skills Required:

Job Description:
Candidate will develop and support all internally developed applications used by the business. A very significant portion of the work is supporting and enhancing existing applications. Candidate must be able to independently trace through existing application code to add additional features or solve problems. Development is done with a combination of ASP, Access, and VB.NET. New development will be done in .Net Core 3.1. Applications reside on the web and on premise servers. Candidate will regularly receive help requests from customers tracked in a ticket system and respond to those requests in a timely manner. Ability to work well with a variety of customers is a must.

Personal Accounts Specialist

 Job Description:

Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, a non-profit known as the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America
is looking for a Personal Accounts Specialist.

The Personal Accounts Specialist controls and maintains all personal and mission accounts of society members.  Process all wire transfers according to Maryknoll policy. Maintain confidentiality pertaining to all members’ accounts. Answer all inquiries with regard to personal and mission accounts. To control all entries submitted by US Locations. Prepare misc. journal entries, i.e., allocations, accruals, prepaid expenses. Prepare misc. account analysis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Record the activity to Society Members personal and mission accounts.
  • Ensure that Society Member wire requests are honored in accordance with the internal procedures and approval process.
  • Provide one control point of various and numerous sources of Members’ accounts.
  • Maintain a file with regards to Members’ accounts and provide Members with a statement of their accounts.
  • Address variances between actual expenditures and budgets for the US Locations.
  • Assist in production of accurate 1099s for individuals paid by the houses.
  • Ensure proper accounting for misc. transactions in Society’s Financials
  • Ensure that related data is valid and current and that discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that Business Office transactions are handled in accordance with procedures & guidelines established.
  • Ensure A/P Vendor file changes are made for proper submission to bank.
  • Year-end processes are completed in a timely manner.
  • Interest is paid to members for their funds held at the Center.
  • Produce 1099 interest forms. Meet government laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience required
  • Knowledge of general ledger and GAAP required
  • Not-for-profit experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills. Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to complete job responsibilities with minimal assistance.
  • Able to work in team environment and must be comfortable working in a result oriented environment requiring overtime (on an as needed basis) and the meeting of fixed deadlines.

Job Summary:
To report, research and write original mission content in English and Spanish for publication in print, digital, online and social media for Maryknoll’s multimedia magazines. To edit stories from staff, missioners and correspondents; proofread articles for the Spanish magazine, web and other content publications; travel for reporting, particularly to Maryknoll missions overseas; represent the magazines at meetings and conferences as assigned; support the editors in production and administrative tasks as required; support the U.S. Mission Education Apostolate’s outreach efforts as needed. Other job responsibilities include helping to manage magazine websites and optimizing web posts (SEO work), preparing social media posts based on magazine content and news stories.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience as a journalist writing in English and Spanish; a strong understanding and appreciation of Roman Catholicism and the Catholic Church in the United States. Reporting, interviewing, writing, editing, translating and proofreading, with fluency in English and Spanish; computer and Internet literate, proficiency with Word, InDesign/InCopy and WordPress preferred; a strong news sense and feature-writing ability, an eye for good photography; experience working with various social media platforms. Knowledge of basic, short-form video production a plus.

We are seeking a full time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounts Payable team.

This position is responsible for processing invoices, including those from outside vendors, internal check requests, and credit card payments, in a timely manner.  The position also reviews and resolves any discrepancies in the credit card statements.  In addition, this position serves as a backup to the Assistant to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, inclusive of the check & ACH payment run.

It is essential that the candidate is a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills and the ability to maintain interpersonal relationships.

Senior Internal Auditor

Is looking for a motivated Senior Internal Auditor to assist the Manager of Internal Audit in promoting the value of Internal Audit within Maryknoll by providing strategic thinking to the audit process, identifying areas of risk and noncompliance, creating solutions to improve efficiencies within key business processes, and bring analytical skills to the forefront of every Internal Audit project. As Senior Internal Auditor, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the audit process from start to finish helping develop and review the audit plan, assess areas of risk within Maryknoll, prepare and execute scheduled and ad-hoc audits, report on improvements in business processes to senior management and provide consulting to various business units on financial, IT and operational processes.  The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills (oral and written), be able to work independently, have good critical thinking skills, excellent technical skills in using data analysis software such as Galvanize (ACL), IDEA or Tableau, and good time management skills.

Ideal candidate must be able to:

  • Collaborate with Internal Auditor on development and changes to audit plan
  • Assist the Manager of Internal Auditor in performing periodic risk assessments at business unit level and organization wide level
  • Plan and perform financial, operational and IT compliance audits
  • Responsible for documenting audit procedures using audit management software
  • Identify the root causes of control failures or areas of improvements and recommend corrective actions
  • Review controls over information technology in areas such as data security (access), systems development and implementation, and business system capabilities
  • Maintain electronic audit documentation (using data analysis software) and evidence to support findings and recommendations
  • Communicate findings, opportunities and observations to all levels of management
  • Assist in the implementation of automated audit techniques to improve audit efficiencies
  • Update Internal Audit Manual policies and procedures based on evolving audit work performed
  • Provide periodic training and consulting services to business units on compliance, fraud prevention and/or other financial and IT-related areas
  • Perform special audits, investigations, and/or ad-hoc projects as assigned by the General Council or Audit Committee

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Information Systems, Economics or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Internal Audit or related audit consulting and/or advisory engagements
  • Certification or certification in progress as one of the following: CIA(Certified Internal Auditor), CFE(Certified Fraud Examiner), CISA(Certified Information Systems Auditor), CRMA(Certified Risk Management Assurance) etc. required
  • Strong proficiency in internal auditing principles and best practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of IIA Standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of COSO Integrated Frameworks for Internal Control and Enterprise Risk Management
  • Understanding or familiarity with General IT Controls (GITC) and COBIT
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Galvanize(ACL), IDEA, Tableau or Python to develop data analytical audit techniques
  • Experience in Not-for-Profit and/or Governmental Sector is required.
  • Travel required: approximately 5%
