Brought here as a child without legal status, she lived in fear, unable to work or get proper ID. After a domestic incident led to her detention, she faced deportation. With help from Maryknoll Lay Missioner Heidi Cerneka and a team of attorneys, social workers, and volunteers, Elizabeth persevered through a difficult 16-month process. Despite many obstacles, she never gave up hope or stopped fighting for her right to remain. The judge ruled in her favor. It\u2019s about locating ourselves in the embrace of God\u2019s love, who knows our daily needs before we even speak them. The parables that follow remind us that prayer is also bold. It is not passive, polite knocking\u2014it is persistent, expectant, even inconvenient in its trust. Missionary disciples are not called to be self-sufficient heroes but rather faithful beggars who know where the bread is. We knock on God\u2019s door not just for ourselves, but for others\u2014for friends who arrive hungry, for communities in need of healing, for a world desperate for justice.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”6.
