When I read the book [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#000000″ header_font=”|700|||||||” header_font_size=”26px” background_color=”#FFFFFF” custom_padding=”22px|22px|22px|22px|false|false” border_radii=”on|6px|6px|6px|6px” border_width_all=”2px” border_color_all=”#FFC700″ global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n 4. <\/strong>GOSPEL STORY<\/b><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n 4. GOSPEL STORY On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”<\/p>\n Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nail marks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? The courage of Thomas urges us to be more honest about our own doubts and concerns. “Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light,” I vividly remember feeling both a punch in the gut and incredible relief. To know that such an incredible woman, who had devoted her life to working for the poor in the name of God, had such intense doubt, was a strange encounter with the real. I thought only those with little faith doubted\u2014people like me who cried out in the night and only heard silence. People who looked for God and found nothing. To learn that such a person like Mother Teresa also felt like God hid from her, that her prayers went unanswered and yet she continued to serve was nothing short of a miracle for me. She didn\u2019t let her doubt and fear stop her from doing the mission God had planted on her heart. At that moment, I knew I too could carry on and serve God even when it felt impossible.
