Village Community Bank (VICOBA) is an interreligious group of 30 members, 18 women and 12 men, the majority of whom are village farmers located in Masanga Village of the Rogoro Parish in the Diocese of Musoma, Tanzania. With your help, Father Edward Hayes, M.M., will build a social hall at the church compound. The hall will be used to hold parish council and youth meetings, activites and seminars, and it will be used as a work room where they will make soap and batik items to sell. The HIV Center first opened in 2009 and it currently has 2,500 patients. As it keeps growing every year, more space for patients, medical staff, medicine and supplies are needed. There are over 100 children that are HIV positive at the Center. Under the direction of Father James Conard, M.M., Maryknoll will construct an HIV specialization unit at Kowak Hospital.

(Tanzania) Renovations for Bugando Center CPE Facility

The Bugando Medical Center has within its walls the CPE Facility. This facility serves as housing, meeting room and living quarters for up to 18 students attending the 12-week course that trains them for pastoral skills as they work as chaplains at the hospital. The facility is in need of 21 mattresses, 21 mosquito nets, 30 curtains, seat cushions, a photo copy machine and a printer/scanner. In addition, the kitchen requires renovations that includes the floors, sink, roof, painting and general carpentry work.
